This is the largest enclosed and protected grizzly bear habitat in the world. The 20-acre area is the home to resident grizzly bear, Boo. Within this natural mountainside habitat, Boo hunts, plays, forages, and explores just like his wild cousins.

Panorama Mountain Resort Sightseeing Chairlift Ride
Enjoy a scenic ride on the Mile 1 Express chairlift to an elevation of 5,300 feet. Once at the top, take in the breathtaking view of the Kootenay Rockies or venture along one of several alpine hiking trail options.This is a fantastic family outing for all ages. Be sure to stop at the Mile 1 Hut for a coffee, snack or lunch to enjoy outside while taking in the view across to Mount Nelson (it’s the highest peak across the valley with the somewhat flat top). Watch for bountiful raspberries and strawberries late in the summer season.
