We have partnered with Playwest Mountain Experiences to offer all inclusive guided hiking in the Invermere and Columbia Valley area. Explore the Canadian Rocky mountains with professionally certified Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG) hiking guides, luxury transportation, fresh packed lunches and in a small intimate group.

Half-Day Guided Hikes

Our half-day trips offer guests the chance to explore some of the highlights of the Columbia Valley (aka The Rocky Mountain Trench). If you are pressed for time or are new to hiking and want to see what all the hype is about, these 4 hour trips are great. You can explore the Columbia Valley Wetlands, take in panoramic views of the the area from our Lookout Trip high above valley or watch the sun go down on our Summits & Sunsets trip while feasting on a traditional Swiss Fondue.

Signature Guided Hiking

Signature Day Guided Hikes

Each of the Signature Day Hikes will truly “disconnect” you from real world distractions and will allow you to “reconnect” with nature, your friends and family on a totally different level! These intermediate hikes take you deep into the Rocky Mountains to some of the most magnificent places around. Some of our destinations include Rocky Mountain Ridge Walks or views of Spectacular Glaciers from tens of thousands of millennia ago. Maybe you would like to find a high alpine lake to enjoy lunch and just take it all in. We have something for everyone, give us a call and we can plan the right trip for you!

Hiking

The Radius Lookout

On this interpretive hike you will learn about the natural history of the area, flora & fauna and more of what makes the Columbia Valley Great. The highlight of your trip, the Radius Lookout. From here you have a 180° view of the Columbia Valley and spectacular views of the Purcell Mountains. Mt. Nelson, Farnham Tower, Mount Law are just a few of the iconic peaks you can see from this overlook.

Stanley Glacier Hikes

Stanley Glacier

An absolute classic of Kootenay National park. You will experience the remnants of a historical burn from 2003 and explore the impressive regrowth of Lodge Pole Pine. We make our way up towards the Stanley Glacier cirque. Dwarfed by the tremendous Stanley guard wall we slowly ascend above tree-line. From here we have options to hunt for fossils dated over 505 million years ago. This magnificent setting is a breathtaking look at a Rockies classic!

Kindersley Pass Hiking

Kindersley Pass

Kindersley Pass is a favorite of ours in Kootenay National Park. This extraordinary hike takes you through old growth forest, slide paths loaded with wild flowers and high alpine ridge walks that will take your breath away. You will also travel through incredible bear habitat and may have the opportunity to view “Fuzzy Wuzzy,” enjoying Glacier Lillies and more! Options await for those that have the energy to tackle an additional 300m+ elevation gain. Mt. Kindersley SE summit awaits.

Bear Discovery Hikes

Bear Discovery in Kootenay National Park

 Learn about bear biology, habitat, feeding habits and behavior as you hike the Kindersley Pass trail. This is a moderate-level hike with excellent potential for (safe) wildlife sightings. After you’ve finished the hike stop in a the world famous Radium Hot Springs for a soak to sooth your body in their incredible pools.
